Beautiful silk clutches handmade by our co-founder, Tanima. Each clutch is made with gorgeous vintage silk sari fabric and recycled inner lining fabric sourced from Canadian charity, EcoEquitable. Craft Show Re-cap - Glamour in the Glebe

A brand new event for us, Glamour in the Glebe, used to exclusively showcase handmade jewellery, but was opened up this year for other accessory designers. We were thrilled to be a part of the show which included an Opening Night Gala where volunteers modelled one or two pieces by each designer. I discovered some amazing new artists here that I have never seen before.

The Lady Smith's table was right next to mine, and from the moment she started displaying her pieces I was in love. Each element of her jewellery is lovingly handmade. For certain special pieces she hand etches designs onto metal, making it one of a kind. There was an etched cloud with a stone raindrop pendant, that I didn't get a chance to photograph before it was sold. I was a bit obsessed with that piece, and it's definitely on my "must have" list.

Craft Show Re-cap - Handmade Harvest

So it's been a productive and busy season so far, filled with craft shows and fun. I meet so many amazing artisans at these shows that I thought I should feature some of my favourites from each show.

The first show of the season was Handmade Harvest, which is held in Almonte. This is the third one we have participated in, and it is always an amazing show. I always wish I had known about it sooner, so I could have been one of the lucky attendees who gets the amazing swag bag handed out to the first 50 visitors.

Mouse & Owl creates beautiful hand printed linens and accessories. Her prints are nature inspired, simple, and she prints using only natural dyes. I love simple and minimal and that's why  my eyes are always drawn to her prints. I was so excited to see her items in person at the show and was surprised to find out that she also makes beautiful mobiles made from recycled materials. I'm obsessed with elephants, so I was very tempted to buy the cutest elephant mobile I have ever seen.

More puppies

I can't resist sharing another post of puppy pictures, because they are just too adorable.
The farm was a beautiful setting with a large field of blooming buckwheat, and the puppies were having a great time exploring. Eventually they all got tuckered out and fell asleep under an old pickup truck.

Puppies, puppies, everywhere!

I had the most amazing opportunity to visit 17 seven week old puppies! I don't know about you, but I have always had this dream of lying on the ground and being surrounded by puppies. I lived my dream, and it was great! Of course I had to do a photoshoot with our lovely scarves and the puppies because cuteness always has to be documented!

I didn't have time to design this months Desktop Wallpaper Calendar till yesterday. June always makes me think of dandelions, because my yard is covered in them. June also makes me think of bugs, and as much as I don't like bugs, I have to admit they can be beautiful, with their iridescent colouring. Hope you enjoy this months wallpaper which combines two under appreciated natural beauties.

This week all the photos are going to have a beach theme, because I'm simply sick of the cold! I had the amazing opportunity to visit South Florida last month, and I'm missing the scenery. Hope you are all able to go somewhere tropical soon.

Relaunch and Redesign of Chobhi Blog!

Today marks a year and a half since we launched Chobhi. It's been an amazing year and a half, and we are so looking forward to seeing where this journey will take us. The response has been so amazing that we have taken a big step, and are dedicating our time fully to Chobhi. That means we have left our full-time "regular" jobs....gulp! Our passion is with Chobhi, so though it's a scary step, it's a necessary one to help us grow.

This blog has been neglected, but now that we have time to dedicate to it, we are looking forward to bringing back D.I.Y. tutorials, artist features, link round-ups, posts on products we love, and daily photographs. A fresh start deserves a fresh look, so we have completely redesigned the blog, so it is simple to navigate.

We are going to start a new tradition, starting today. On the first day of every month we will have a Desktop Wallpaper Calendar for you to download and use. Every desktop calendar will feature photography taken by Chobhi's Tanima Majumdar. Just click on the image that will work best on your monitor, save a copy, and use as your desktop background.

May's calendar features a lovely open purple tulip, just the perfect image for spring!
